The 21st century has brought forth a deep existential restlessness among young people, shaped by intergenerational disconnects, ecological and economic shifts, and the pervasive influence of digital technologies. These conditions have redefined how youth engage with society, education, and faith—prompting urgent questions about identity, agency, and spiritual formation.
This conference seeks to explore how Theology and Religious Education can respond to the emerging challenges of youth engagement in our time. We invite interdisciplinary and praxis-oriented contributions that examine how faith is formed, expressed, and mobilized in a rapidly changing world. Special attention will be given to the role of emerging technologies—particularly AI, AR/VR, and hyper-personalized media—in shaping the spiritual and ethical landscapes of young people.
