The 11th National Conference in Catechesis and Religious Education was held at De La Salle University-Manila last June 23-24, 2023, with the theme, “Greening the Faith: Challenges to Religious Education”. This is the first hybrid conference after years of holding it online due to the pandemic. This conference was initiated by the De La Salle University Department of Theology and Religious Education with the Religious Educators Association of the Philippines. It was attended by religious educators, theologians, and catechists from different institutions. This conference invites everyone to discern and reflect on Religious Education’s role and engagement in the ongoing discussions on ecology and environment.
The first day of the conference was held at the DLSU Yuchengco Seminar Rooms 507-508 where four plenary speakers gave their lectures.
First Plenary Speaker – Rev. Fr. Reynaldo Raluto, PhD –
Second Plenary Speaker – Prof. Dr. Jeramie N. Molino
Third Plenary Speaker – Prof. Dr. Stefan Altmeyer
Fourth Plenary Speaker – Prof. Dr. Jean C. Peracullo
The second day of the conference was held pure online via Zoom Meeting. The first part of the parallel sessions was held in the morning.
The REAP General Assembly was held at 10:30AM after the first part of the parallel sessions. Meanwhile, in the afternoon, the 2nd part of the parallel sessions was held. The ten-point agenda of REAP, accomplishments for the past year, and upcoming events were discussed by REAP President, Dr. Arvin Eballo.
The celebration of the Holy Eucharist was celebrated online before giving the final announcements and the closing remarks by Dr. Lysander Rivera, the Chair of DTRE.
The next host for the 12th National Conference in Catechesis and Religious Education is St. La Salle University, Bacolod, and will be held in June 2024. See you!
